Spanish progressive metallers After Lapse are back with their brand new album “Pathways”, set for release on December 13th, 2024, via Frontiers Music Srl. The band also unveil the first single and official video, “Clones”, out now.

Keyboardist Pablo Sancha describes the themes of the new single: “Clones” revolves around our desperate need of belonging, of fitting in a society which is more and more focused on walking the most beaten path to make us lose our true selves, and the idea of getting out of the flock to find your own way.”

“Ever since I started to write the main melody of the song, it was clear for me that it needed to resonate along with the lines “all my life, blinded and silenced”, like a mantra echoing in the back of your head. Some sort of wake-up call that finally makes us find our own path and stop being just another clone of one another”, he adds.

After Lapse was initially formed in 2018 by drummer Roberto Cappa, keyboardist Pablo Sancha, and guitarist Arturo Rodríguez, who had all previously played together in the band “Delyriüm”.

After a few member changes in the early years of the band, After Lapse settled into their current line-up in 2021 and soon after caught the attention of the Danish agency/management firm Intromental Management, who immediately signed on to represent the band upon hearing the demos the band had recorded at that time.

Over the course of 2021 and well into 2022, After Lapse kept writing and recording music for what would become their debut album, “Face The Storm”. When Frontiers Music Srl received the demos that the band was working on, they were thrilled with what they heard and moved quickly to sign the band for the release of their debut.

Following their live shows in support of UK prog legends Threshold to promote their debut album, the band came back in the studio to work on the new album.

After Lapse's musical influences vary from progressive metal bands like Dream Theater, Devin Townsend, Pain Of Salvation, Haken, to power metal bands like Kamelot, Angra, and they helped to shape what is now the very personal style of the band.

“Pathways” delivers a mature band ready to leave its mark in the progressive scene. The band's melodic progressive metal approach will surely be music to the ears of discerning prog fans around the world.
