... there’s no shortage of hooks or melody on an album that provides an interesting and involved listen.
Nuclear Blast looked to diversify their roster with the signing of this British Goth Synth duo last year. Equal parts H.I.M., The Cure – a product of Adam Saunderson’s vocals – and The Birthday Massacre, the music is both haunting, hypnotic and melodic in equal measure.
Songs like the guitar and synth heavy ‘Gaia’, the downbeat ‘Holy Malice’ or The Birthday Massacre tinged atmospherics of ‘Miracle’ typify the modus operandi of the band, and although perhaps a little too downbeat for some – you certainly won’t be tapping your foot or nodding your head – there’s no shortage of hooks or melody on an album that provides an interesting and involved listen.
